Before founding Field59 as CEO, Derek was President of Publisher Applications at Broadcast Interactive Media. A technologist and designer at heart, he has over 15 years experience working with digital media and communications companies. He has worked with NBC Universal Owned Television Stations, Telemundo, Lincoln Financial, Meredith, Journal Broadcasting, Gannett Broadcasting and Sinclair Broadcast Group. He is a member of Capital Entrepreneurs, 100state, and is on the Visual Communications Advisory Committee at Milwaukee Area Technical College. He has been a speaker on panels about live streaming and video at DEW Expo and Streaming Media West. Derek will someday be fluent in over six million forms of communication and strongly believes in letting the Wookie win.

Catherine once thought she was going to be an astronaut and veterinarian, and though she hasn’t yet made the journey to Mars, (#JourneyToMars!) she has had a life filled with animals – the creatures of this planet she most enjoys being with. Today, she interacts with humans when needed, and has been a part of some incredible teams as a web designer and developer. Before her current marketing role, Catherine worked on the very product that Field59 offers, contributing to the user experience and interface design of the platform. In her spare time, Catherine organizes Madison Women in Tech (madisonwomen.tech), and loves exploring all the cities for all their coffee shops ☕️. And… a LONG time ago, in a galaxy far far away… she read and covered scripts for a production company at Walt Disney Studios.

Michael has 10 years experience at technology companies doing all sorts of things: product and project management, customer support, sales and marketing support, and more. A journalism major, he is a board member of the Daily Cardinal Alumni Association, a college newspaper at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin (Go Badgers!). Michael lives in Portland, Oregon where he enjoys biking, tall trees, and being close to the coast.

Jessica has worked with broadcasters and news producers for 12 years. She has experience training media sales teams on selling digital advertising and how best to package it with their traditional platform offerings. Jessica also spent time in business development for a B2B ad agency in Madison, Wisconsin. Now based out of Portland, Oregon, Jessica spends her free time playing in the very competitive local pinball scene.
